16th Annual Soup & Bread Luncheon
Despite the challenges presented by Covid 19, we’re pleased to announce the completion of another successful Soup Luncheon. Although it was much smaller in scale than our normal Luncheon, it went off without a hitch largely because of our volunteers, donors, and proud supporters. We were able to serve approximately 235 gallons of donated soup (please see the donor list here and patronize their establishments) to 470 people in a drive-thru setup. An additional 95 gallons of unsold donated soup was shared with local agencies so as not to go to waste. We anticipate returning to our normal event in February 2022 and will implement some of the suggestions we were given at this year’s event.
THANK YOU to everyone who purchased a ticket and/or donated, we couldn’t do it without YOU!
Don’t miss the Empty Bowls Annual Soup Luncheon! 16,000 individuals in Monongalia County are food insecure, and the funds raised at this event help support agencies and organizations providing direct services to help combat food insecurity.
Save the Date! February 26, 2022 at Mylan Park from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
We look forward to returning to our traditional luncheon format in 2022.
Tickets are available for purchase at the event and from our local retail partners.
Our online auction was a rousing success in 2021. Congratulations to all the winning bidders!
