Creating bowls for Empty Bowls at Zenclay

As a new venture, the Zenclay Studio staff will be offering an opportunity for adult or young adult non-potters to try their hands at making slab or coil molded bowls.  Although the bowls will be formed, textured and trimmed by the participants, the glazing will be done by the studio staff.

These classes will require three hours of your time – two hours of forming and shaping which will be held on a Friday from 6:30 PM  to 8:30 PM, and then an hour of trimming on that Saturday from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

For the price of $20.00, each participant will be able to make up to four stoneware ceramic bowls of different proportions and sizes.  These will be donated to the Empty Bowls Soup Luncheon that takes place on Saturday, February 22 at Mylan Park Community Center.

The following dates are currently available:

Class 1.  –Friday, Oct. 25 (6:30-8:30) & Saturday, Oct. 26 (4:00-5:00)

Class 2. – Friday, Nov. 1 (6:30-8:30) & Saturday Nov. 2 (4:00-5:00)

Class 3. – Friday, Nov 15 (6:30-8:30) & Saturday, Nov. 16 (4:00-5:00)

Class 4. – Friday, Jan. 10 (6:30-8:30) & Saturday, Jan. 11 (4:00-5:00)
