    Short Term Goals

  • Collaborate with the Monongalia County Food and Hunger Committee and other similar community organizations
  • Update Empty Bowls Monongalia Committee Descriptions
  • Conduct Empty Bowls Monongalia Board Audit
  • Revise Agency Grant Applications
  • Build collaborative relationships through education
  • Increase the number of tickets sales for the luncheon
  • Prepare revisions to the Empty Bowls Mon Operating Procedures
  • Continue to strengthen existing and cultivate new relationships with the business/corporate community
  • Continue to strengthen existing and cultivate new relationships with the recipient community
  • Continue to strengthen existing and cultivate new relationships with the art/pottery community
  • Continue to strengthen existing and cultivate new relationships with our patron and donor community
  • Implement a more effective way of tracking tickets and collecting money
  • Strengthen existing and cultivate new relationships with the faith-based community
  • Strengthen our relationship with West Virginia University students
  • Evaluate direct mail data base systems and make recommendations for improvement
  • Schedule community special events throughout the year that benefit Empty Bowls
  • Develop and strengthen our relationships with the youth in our community
  • Promote the mission/purpose of Empty Bowls more consistently through the year by using a variety of outlets (social media, print, radio, TV, etc.)
  • Collaborate with local businesses to provide additional resources for agencies serving the food insecure population

    Long Range Goals

  • Be known as a major collaborative organization in the community that focuses on food insecurity
  • Promote the Empty Bowls endowment fund to ensure long-term financial support to food pantries and meal programs
  • Provide financial resources to food pantries, feeding programs, and backpack programs to meet unmet needs
  • Increase the number of tickets outlets for 2016-2017 (Cheat Lake and Westover)
  • Increase awareness of food insecurity and related issues in Monongalia County
  • Continue to work collaboratively with local business, organizations, artisans, and faith-based groups throughout the year with fundraising and informational events
  • Strengthen relationships with West Virginia University students, faculty, and administrators public school students expanding meaningful opportunities for volunteers throughout the year
